Uniformity is how uniform water is applied to a target area. (IE Turf) We find uniformity by auditing.
Measuring devices are placed in grids and the system runs for a set amount of time depending on the product type.
We gather the data.
We use mathematical equations and report our findings.
This is not an efficient area. If it was the measuring devices would all have the same amount of water. This design cost 30% more water annually.
You can visibly see uniformity issues in this turf area. 3 defective nozzles are the issue.
Correct product spacing, type, nozzle sizing, and pressure are needed for a uniform system. Without these things you will have poor uniformity.
Here is a lesser case of poor uniformity. The corner of the house has one head with a nozzle that doesn't apply enough water for the area.
Measuring the water applied to an area allows us to identify weak uniformity. Sometimes its painfully obvious.
Without uniform coverage keeping this area acceptable for a client may mean applying 3X more water down then would be needed if it was uniform.
This area is very uniform, but the run time is off. This area has 360 degree heads with low flow nozzles. This increases the needed run time.
Auditing collects all the information and shows us the areas that need attention. Save water, and protect the landscape.
