2 Hunter ICC controllers installed by the installing contractor. The control system was a after thought on this 70 station corporate campus.

Total electrical system reconfiguration. The obsolete Hunter ICC controllers were removed. The site was rewired, and a Baseline control system was installed. The system was also outfitted with a ultrasonic flow sensor, and 3" master valve.

This pump set up was installed under 5 years ago. The pump was not sized properly for the system. The 250lb pump was also installed on a homemade stand. The stand is being crushed by the weight of the pump. The pump was also lower than the overflow of the pond. There was a serious safety risk with high water and the 230V 20 Amp pump.

The homemade stand was replaced with a 1000 lb rated stand. The pump was lifted over 1' from the previous height, now above the overflow of the pond.
The pump was properly sized for the system. A variable frequency drive now operates the pump. This allows the system to always have the correct pressure. The VFD also cuts down on the electrical consumptions by 30% on the pump. Water hammer damage is also greatly reduced.

Pump installed and element protection enclosure. (Prior to electricians installing new wire, conduit, and making final connections.)
The intake line will be upgraded soon.

Over 600' of HDPE SDR 11 pipe fused together to replace a pvc main line. The previous main line has been replaced 2 times in 3 years with pvc. The issue the 4" sleeve the pipe goes into is collecting water and is crushing the pvc pipe. HDPE is the best option for replacement due to its durability.

How's your system's application efficiency? Even the best designed systems need managing. Running a system too long allows for runoff and pushes water deep down in the soil profile where it is no longer usable. Properly installed and managed Smart controllers can help save thousands of gallons of water annually.
Did your landscape irrigation run at all the month of May with no new plant material added to your landscape? If it did and you have a solid soil profile of 4" everything you applied was wasted.
Hennepin County Minnesota Climatological Data for the month starting May 8th-31st. 3.23" of precipitation, and 2.85" of ETO (evapotranspiration water loss from transpiration in cool season turf.) Save water and protect your landscape with ET and soil based irrigation control systems.
